Term #6 - SIMILE



definition:
comparisons of one thing to another thing using the word ‘like’ or ‘as’

example:
Twinkle, twinkle little star,
How I wonder what you are
Up above the world so high,
Like a diamond in the sky. 
significance:
since making connections is one of the reading strategies, simile is important because it casts up images in the readers’ minds. by directly show the connection between two objects, it makes sure that the readers can easily get the poem.
